Ikea Cat Bed Hacks

Well designed, multiple purpose furniture for you and your cat is exactly what I look for.

Cat-Friendly homes can be beautiful too!

Here are four Ikea pieces that can serve double duty for you and your cat.

Gamlehult Footstool

I recently purchased this and I just love it! I put a tray on the top and use it as a coffee table. My cats love to curl up inside and sleep on the natural rattan materials. They also use the sides to scratch. By keeping a tray on top it prevents them from sitting on the top and scratching which is what Cornelius did as soon as I had it put together.

New LUBBAN Trolley table

Another rattan piece which is new to Ikea. Put a little blanket in the bottom part and use the top as a night stand. It’s a great way to give your cat their own place to sleep just near your bed.

LIERSKOGEN Bedside Table

Another nightstand idea. For this you would remove the top piece and have the top bowl open as a cat bed. Put a round cardboard scratcher a or bed inside and you have an instant elevated cat bed.

Check out this DIY Ikea hack to turn this into a cat bed and scratcher.

ALSEDA Footstool

IKEA ALSEDA Stool

This footstool is made from natural banana fiber. Cats would love to both sleep on this and scratch it. Stack two of them for a taller look.

I love IKEA and was thrilled when they added actual pet products. I have several of their KALLAX shelf units, with the cube openings. I bought a couple of the cat cubes to go in them and the one under the TV in the TV/sitting room is one of my cats favorite places to sleep!

Yes me too! I can’t wait to see what else they produce for pets. I also picked up 2 of those cube cat beds. Such a great simple piece!
