Unique. Gorgeous. Funny. Quirky. Timeless. Functional. Just a few of the words I would use to describe this cat scratching post. When I first saw the Copycat Art Scratcher online, I knew we needed it in our home. And when I finally received it, it exceeded all of my exceptions.
It is truly a timeless piece of art for your cat and home. I love it so much. I enticed my cats to try it with a couple treats and they quickly became attracted to the scratching texture and continued to use it on their own.
The Copycat Art Scratcher is Designed by a Dutch designer Lord Lou and sold by Die Moderne Katzen it is comes in three different famous prints:
- Jan Davidsz de Heem – Vase of Flowers
- Jan Vermeers – Girl with a Pearl Earring
- Leonardo da Vinci – Mona Lisa
Size: 70 x 50 x 3.5cm (27.5 x 19.5 x 1.4 inches)
It can be hung on the wall with screws which are included or it stands up by itself on the floor using the hinge on the back. If stood up on the floor, it should be placed next to the wall so when the cat scratches it has the wall for support. It recommends using mounting tape to tape the top to the wall.
It is made of strong tightly woven sisal material that feels very durable and heavy.
I received mine from Die Moderne Katzen, a German online store which sells a beautifully curated collection of cat products for the modern and stylish cat and home. Die Moderne Katzen currently ships to Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Price: 139 euros
I can’t express enough how important it is to give indoor cats their own areas for them to scratch. Scratching is an ESSENTIAL need for cats to mark their territory and feel at home. Giving your cat one small cardboard scratcher in the corner is simply not enough. They need a variety of scratching posts of different materials and designs. The Mona Lisa is proof scratching posts do not have to be an ugly eyesore in your home.
I absolutely adore this. It is truly a one-of-a-kind conversation starter and a beautiful decor piece. I look forward to seeing the wear and tear from my cats’ claws. The scratches to this artwork over time will just add to the light-hearted humor of this unique piece.
What do you think? Which print do you prefer?
Vase of Flowers, Girl with a Pearl Earring or Mona Lisa?
