Quality brushes are must with Persian cats. Our previous slicker brush broke after many years of continued use. I wanted to upgrade and find a better slicker brush so I searched the internet, talked to groomers and was recommended to try the these brushes from Show Tech.
I purchased both the Regular Pins and the Long, Soft Pins Tuffer Than Tangles Slicker Brushes from Show Tech. These have excellent reviews on Amazon and a local cat groomer I spoke to recommends and uses these brushes for long-haired cats.
There is a huge difference in quality between these and what I was using. They are quite large brushes with very study pins, It is very easy to remove the hair that is collected in these brushes.
These are quite large brushes and would not be suitable for kittens or very small cats.
I contacted the manufacture, Tramsgroom and they told me these two brushes specifically were designed for long-haired cats. Tranmsgroom sells a wide range of professional pet grooming products to both private and wholesale buyers.
The long, soft pins (left) is longer and softer at the right one, has firmer pins and shorter.
For under the chin area I use this tiny brush as the Show Tech brushes are too large for this area.
Overall, I love these two new brushes. If I had to pick one, I prefer the medium sized pins (with the red base). The pins are firmer and not as long as the long pins, but still much longer than your normal slicker brush. They were great at brushing that under coat of persian cats.
With Persian cats, there is no one size fits all for brushes. These slicker brushes and a standard metal comb, are our must haves.
