If there ever was a cat tree that was designed just for me, this is it.
When I saw this on Facebook Marketplace, it took my breath away. I was shocked by how beautiful it was, but even more so to learn Ikea made this and I had no idea!
Have you ever seen such a beautiful cat tree?
So many things to love. The shape. The material. The size. The function. It’s perfect!
It is 180cm tall and 120cm at the widest part. The best part is that it’s only 22cm deep so it can fit in very small places. We live in a small apartment so it tucks perfectly behind the door and hardly takes up any space.
It attaches to the wall with 3 screws and is very strudy. This was originally purchased from Ikea in 2008 and well used and it’s still in excellent condition. For a 12-year-old, used cat tree, this is incredibly well made and has withheld the test of time both in style and quality. Well done Ikea!
There are 5 shelves behind the tree for cats to climb, sleep and scratch.
A couple years ago Ikea came out with the Lurvig line for pets which I was excited about and picked up several pieces. I had no idea they made pet products in the past.
I searched for more information about what other pet products Ikea has made for pets and found this from the 2006 catalog. But I couldn’t find any info of the trees like I found.
Ikea needs to bring these back and expand on they pet line. If you agree, please share this blog post or this post on Instagram.
What do you think? Did you know about this vintage Ikea tree? What would you like to see Ikea make for cats? Let me know in the comments.
I am really sad to say that IKEA never had any of the Lurvig line in our shop here in Lanzarote. :(

I’m sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed for their next collection.
I won’t put my hopes up though. We have one of the smallest IKEAs in the world and they just don’t have all the things that bigger stores have.
I just found this online:
“The five smallest shops of IKEA outlets are in Spain. One of them is located on the island of Lanzarote in the port town Arrecife.”
As you know, we live in Lanzarote. ;)
Great cat trees made by hicat.
