Ikea Lurvig Haul

The Lurvig line finally came to stores near me in Switzerland. I went to the launch party to see the new pieces in person.

My number one must have piece from this collection was this black cat house that fits into the KALLAX system. Such a simple but useful little cat cave.

In the photo above next to the new Lurvig bed are two KNIPSA baskets also from Ikea. These are Cornelius’s favorite scratchers this is why they are a bit frayed. When they get too bad I turn them to another side. Plus they double as storage. I don’t have a Kallax bookcase but the Ikea Kallax accessories fit perfectly into my wood crates.

To the right of that is this DIY Vase Scratcher I I made years ago.

The second must have was this cat scratcher. Using three velcro strips you can attach it to any leg of a desk or table. Such an easy and inexpensive way to incorporate another cat scratcher without taking up much space.

I also got a pet bed. It is made from Polyester, is water proof and machine washable. The inside cushion must be purchased separately. But you can also just fill it using old towels or clothing. I have been leaving this on the sofa which is the cats favorite day time sleeping spot. This helps cut down time in cleaning hair off the sofa.

There were other items from the line I wanted but were not available in my stores. I was told this line would only be available until supplies run out and would not be re-stocked. I pray that Ikea continues to make products for cats and dogs and can’t wait to see what else they make. I would love to see them make cat trees and climbing towers. After all, pets are an important part of our home.
